11 June 2022--Got here to Caja's and Jeannie's place a week ago, on the 4th. As you can see from these pics, they are in a very rural area. Lots of very picturesque barns, silos, and houses. I don't know what it is about an old barn and a wide open field, but I love it.
Caja and Jeanne (next to be known as C&J) live on Sugar Lake, actually right across the street from it. In this 1st pic I have my back to the lake, while in the 2nd I am taking the pic from their deck. That's Cathy and me on the far left by the barn.
Their trailer. Check out the deck Caja built about 10 years ago! Very impressive!
Some pics while we are out walking. Very nice landscaping.
I'm calling this "the end of the road"...lol Hasn't moved in a couple years, no hook-ups, but we did see a guy come in there with his kayak for a 2 day visit.
Mushroom? No idea!
Just some pretty flowers.
Massive farming area...not sure what they are growing here, but Jeannie thought maybe oats or barley. Check out the video for a nice surprise! lol
Out walking the dogs. Cathy and Caja are in the 3rd pic but you'll have to blow it up to see them.
So after a couple days here, Caja is going to put her boat dock in the water, assisted by Cathy. (I am the documentarian--lol). Caja 1st has to spruce up the area.
Caja has to secure the dock so it doesn't roll away, and then she is trying to get Cathy to get into the water to help, but Cathy is having none of it. lol
Cathy goes high!
The final touch! (I'm exhausted at this point!--lol)
To put the pontoon in the water, Cathy towed it over to the other side of the lake and Jeannie drove it back to the dock. Check out how calm and pretty the lake is here.
Out walking a 3-mile loop...remember, I said it's very rural! lol The horses in the 1st pic of the 3rd row are not American Quarter Horses (depressed--lol), they are just eating. The horse in the middle row is beautiful.
Cathy and I out fishing. Something is blowing from the trees covering the water in the 1st pic.
We caught a bunch of fish, but most weren't keepers. Cathy got the biggest, a bass; I caught 4 of these yellow perch. All the rest were blue gills (about 30 between us.)
Here are a bunch of Canadian Geese, with babies. They are here all season--and poop up a storm!
The dogs are loving the big yard.
The dogs will chase and play with each other, but only up to the point that Willa sees the ball. Then, Willa runs for the ball, while Kota only runs for food--lol
Fairly slow internet up here--I'm in C&J's house in order to upload and type this--so we won't be doing daily blogs, but stay tuned. My next post will be titled "Carp-alooza", and it's pretty wild!
Brian here. If you’re so close, why don’t you come homeš¤·♂️
ReplyDeleteIt's actually a minimum of an 11 hour drive from here, but more important is that there is too much Covid going around and I don't want to go house to house to house.
